VP ERP Transformation

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands (hybrid - 3 days onsite minimum)

Focus: Global SAP S/4HANA strategy, programme mobilisation and business transformation

Sector preference: Life Sciences / GxP-regulated environments

NOTE: must have an EU passport to make this work with the onsite requirement in the NL.

Harrington Boyd is seeking an exceptional VP of ERP Transformation to launch and shape a major global SAP S/4HANA transformation within a multibillion-sized international organisation.

This is a pivotal executive role for a transformation leader who can translate strategic ambition into an executable programme, establishing the vision, business case, operating model, governance and roadmap for enterprise-wide change.

Working closely with the executive leadership team and global business functions, you will drive a business-led transformation that goes beyond technology implementation to fundamentally rethink end-to-end processes, simplify operations and unlock value through automation and AI.

Experience in Life Sciences and regulated GxP environments is strongly preferred, particularly where innovation must be balanced with stringent quality, compliance and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

Define the transformation strategy: Establish the S/4HANA vision, target operating model, business case, roadmap and implementation approach.
Mobilise the programme: Build executive alignment, establish governance, secure resources and prepare the organisation for large-scale delivery.
Drive business process transformation: Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and other functions to standardise and optimise end-to-end processes.
Shape the technology roadmap: Guide decisions around SAP S/4HANA architecture, systems integration, data migration, master data and implementation partners.
Embed AI and automation: Identify opportunities to redesign business processes using AI, intelligent automation and advanced analytics, moving beyond simply replicating legacy processes.
Navigate regulatory complexity: Embed GxP, quality, validation and data integrity requirements into the transformation strategy from the outset.
Lead organisational change: Build a high-performing transformation team, drive stakeholder engagement and establish accountability for adoption and business benefits.

What you bring

Significant leadership experience in global ERP transformation, ideally including SAP S/4HANA programme strategy and mobilisation.
Experience establishing complex transformation programmes from the ground up, from business case and roadmap through to delivery readiness.
Executive presence and the ability to influence C-suite stakeholders across business and technology functions.
Strong understanding of end-to-end processes, enterprise architecture, data governance and global operating models.
A track record of simplifying complexity, challenging legacy ways of working and delivering measurable business outcomes.
Experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams and managing strategic systems integrators and technology partners.

Highly desirable: Life Sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical technology experience; practical knowledge of GxP-regulated environments; and experience designing AI-enabled business processes and intelligent automation.
