SAP Manufacturing & Supply Chain Manager

Location: Flexible / Hybrid (HQ in North Rhine-Westphalia)
Travel: Approximately 15%

A leading global manufacturing business is seeking an experienced SAP Manufacturing & Supply Chain Manager to lead its global Plan-to-Deliver SAP domain. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for ensuring SAP technology enables world-class manufacturing and supply chain operations while driving the organisation's global S/4HANA transformation.

Working closely with senior business and IT stakeholders, you will define the future SAP architecture, champion process standardisation across international operations, and lead a high-performing global team. As a member of the IT Applications & Services Leadership Team, you will play a key role in shaping the company's digital manufacturing strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Global SAP Manufacturing & Supply Chain Leadership

  • Own the global SAP Manufacturing & Supply Chain domain, covering:
    • Production Planning (PP / PP-PI)
    • Materials Management (MM)
    • Quality Management (QM)
    • Warehouse Management (WM / EWM)
  • Take end-to-end ownership of the Plan-to-Deliver process across all manufacturing sites.
  • Drive global process harmonisation, standardisation and continuous improvement.
  • Act as the primary IT leader and subject matter expert for the Manufacturing & Supply Chain domain.

S/4HANA Transformation

  • Lead the Manufacturing & Supply Chain workstream within the global S/4HANA transformation programme.
  • Define and deliver the future SAP architecture, including:
    • Manufacturing planning landscape
    • MRP Live and advanced planning capabilities
    • Shop floor integrations
    • Warehouse and logistics solutions
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and global SAP templates.
  • Drive the transition from legacy platforms to a modern, scalable S/4HANA environment.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop a globally distributed team of SAP Manufacturing and Supply Chain specialists.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and technical leadership to team leads and senior consultants.
  • Build organisational capability to support future SAP innovation and S/4HANA technologies.
  • Foster collaboration across regional and global teams to deliver consistent, high-quality solutions.

Business Partnership

  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Manufacturing, Operations and Supply Chain.
  • Translate business strategy into scalable SAP solutions that deliver measurable value.
  • Challenge existing processes and identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and optimise operations.
  • Ensure SAP capabilities support business growth, operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements

You are an experienced SAP leader with a strong background in manufacturing and supply chain environments, combining strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to delivering technology solutions.

You will bring:

  • 12+ years' experience working with SAP in manufacturing and supply chain environments.
  • Strong expertise in SAP PP / PP-PI (essential), together with experience in at least one of the following:
    • SAP WM / EWM (preferred)
    • SAP MM
    • SAP QM
  • Proven experience leading global SAP teams and delivering complex international programmes.
  • Experience leading or playing a significant role in S/4HANA transformation initiatives.
  • Good understanding of ABAP, debugging and technical design principles, with the ability to challenge and guide development teams.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end manufacturing, planning, warehousing and supply chain processes.
  • Experience delivering global template solutions and driving process harmonisation across multiple regions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence both business and IT leadership.
  • The ability to balance strategic planning with operational delivery.
  • Fluent English and German
  • Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 15%).
