Freelance SAP Basis Architect (m/f/d)

12-Month Contract | Global Manufacturing Group | Germany | S/4HANA Transformation

About the Role

A global leader in the manufacturing industry is embarking on a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation program and is seeking an experienced SAP Basis Architect to join on a freelance basis for an initial 12-month contract.

This is a pivotal opportunity to influence the design, build, and stability of a next-generation SAP landscape supporting a worldwide digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Define and deliver the SAP Basis architecture for the global S/4HANA program.
Lead and support the migration from ECC to S/4HANA, including system design, sizing, and landscape optimization.
Oversee system installation, configuration, upgrades, and performance tuning.
Manage technical integration with cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP).
Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of the SAP environment.
Collaborate with internal IT teams, external partners, and system integrators.
Implement governance, monitoring, and best practices across the SAP landscape.

Your Profile

8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis and system architecture.
Proven track record of S/4HANA implementation or migration projects.
Strong technical understanding of SAP HANA DB, NetWeaver, and Linux-based environments.
Experience with cloud-hosted SAP and hybrid architectures.
Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager, Cloud ALM, or other monitoring tools.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
